Power Rangers Super Samurai Gold Ranger

Another 3rd birthday cake, this time it was a paired effort from myself and Rob. We made the Power Rangers Super Samurai Gold Ranger with matching samurai symbol cupcakes. To start with we carved the helmet and neck followed by a crumb coating of Italian Meringue butter-cream.

The cake was then covered with white fondant before being sprayed Gold. This stuff is amazing though choc full of e-numbers!

The helmet was then finished with black fondant decoration

In the meantime we made 24 cupcakes. 5 were covered in a circle of coloured fondant and the appropriate Samurai Symbol for that Ranger. The remainder were piped with swirls.

Nicely arranged ready for the Birthday boy to blow out his 3 candles (again!)

A special 30th Birthday Cake

It's been a long time since I've updated this blog, but hopefully I can start posting more regularly again! This weekend I made a very special 30th birthday cake. Things were a bit messy to start with!

Then it looked a lot ruder than it was meant to:

Starting to look a bit better:

Named Cupcakes

These cupcakes were made for a group of kids (and big kids!) for a trip to Paultons Park. Although the trip was cancalled due to ill health (get better soon <3) I thought I'd still show everyone the cupcakes, hope you like them!

Cupcakes for two of my favourite cousins:

And of course one for my favourite aunt:

Grannys' Birthday Cake

My Granny turns 60something tomorrow and so I made her a birthday cake, this is the first time I've tried to paint a design on a cake and I've decided 2 things:
  1. I suck at art
  2. I need smaller paintbrushes with no sticky-outy bristles
Anyways, I hope you like it :)

Close up of a good flower and its slightly dodgy neighbour!:
